Tohatsu have been around since 1956, and over the past 45 years these outboards have come to be recognised for their reliability in over 30 countries around the world; from the USA to Finland; Argentina to Morocco; Indonesia to Australia.
Tohatsu is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of outboards.

Originally designed for Japanese commercial fishermen, Tohatsu Outboards have been put to the ultimate test for decades – harsh ocean conditions and long days of running for hours at a time. As further testament to Tohatsu’s toughness, the smallest engine, a 2.5 hp, still holds the world record as the smallest outboard ever used to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

With the introduction of TLDI ® (Two stroke, Low pressure Direct Injection System), which includes state-of-the-art air and fuel delivery systems to provide a new generation of outboards, this has resulted in extraordinary new technology that is being used in the Tohatsu 50 and 90 hp motors.
